How to reach Bari, where to stay, how registration and check-in work, and what to know before you travel.

General information
When does the summit take place?
The summit runs from 23 to 26 September 2027. In the three days before, from 20 to 22 September, the GELS, GNLS and PLS seminars take place: the training for governors-elect, governors-nominee and their partners.
Where does it take place?
The congress sessions are held at The Nicolaus Hotel in Bari. The opening ceremony and the official moments take place at the Teatro Piccinni, in the historic centre.
Who can attend?
The summit is for Rotarians and Rotaractors from the districts of zones 14–21, covering Europe and the Middle East, and for their partners. The GELS, GNLS and PLS seminars are reserved for governors-elect, governors-nominee and their partners.

The journey
Getting to Bari
Which airport should I fly into?
Bari Karol Wojtyła airport (code BRI), about eight kilometres from the city centre, connected to the main European hubs by scheduled and low-cost flights.
How do I get into the city from the airport?
The airport is linked to Bari Centrale station by a dedicated rail service taking about fifteen minutes, and by a shuttle bus. Taxis and private transfers are available. Current timetables and fares will be published closer to the event.
Can I come by train?
Yes. Bari Centrale is served by high-speed and intercity trains from the main Italian cities, and is the hub for regional lines across Puglia.
Can I come by car or by sea?
By car, Bari is on the A14 motorway. The port of Bari is one of the main Adriatic ports, with ferry connections to Greece, Albania, Croatia and Montenegro.
Do I need a visa to enter Italy?
It depends on your nationality. Travellers from outside the Schengen area should check entry requirements with the Italian diplomatic mission in their country well in advance. How the secretariat will issue invitation letters is still being decided.

Are there recommended hotels?
Yes. The Stay page lists a selection of hotels in the city, with their location and a direct link to book.
Are there negotiated rates?
Agreements with hotels are still being arranged. Until then, bookings are made directly with the hotels, on their own terms.
How far ahead should I book?
September is high season in Puglia, and the summit brings several hundred people into the city. Book as soon as your travel dates are settled.

Programme and check-in
When does registration open?
The opening date for registration is still being decided. It will be announced on this site and through the district channels.
What does the fee include?
What each option includes is set out on the Register page, next to the relevant ticket.
Can I register several people at once?
Yes. A single order can hold up to twenty-five participants, each with their own details and their own ticket, under one payment and one invoice. It is the route intended for clubs and districts.
How does check-in work on site?
When you register you receive a confirmation with a personal code, to be shown at the registration desk to collect your badge. Desk hours and location will be published with the final programme.

Money, connections and practicalities
What currency is used?
The euro. Credit and debit cards are accepted almost everywhere, including taxis and small shops, and contactless payment is the norm.
What about electricity?
Italy runs on 230 volts at 50 hertz, with type F and type L sockets. Travellers from the United Kingdom, Switzerland or outside Europe will need an adapter.
What is the emergency number?
112, the single European emergency number, covering ambulance, police and fire brigade.
What is the weather like in Bari in September?
Late September is generally mild, with highs around twenty-five degrees and cooler evenings by the sea. A light layer for the evening is advisable.
What is the time zone?
Central European Summer Time, UTC+2 during the summit.
How do I get around the city?
Bari has a compact centre that is easy to walk. City buses, taxis and private hire services are available. Dedicated shuttles between the summit venues are under consideration.
The return
Departure and return travel
What time does the summit finish?
The closing is planned for Sunday 26 September 2027. The exact time will be given in the final programme, and it is worth waiting for that confirmation before booking return travel.
Can I leave my luggage on the last day?
Luggage storage at the venue is under consideration. In the meantime, most hotels will hold luggage after check-out.
How do I get back to the airport?
By the same rail link and the buses that serve the airport from the centre, or by taxi. Allow extra time at peak hours.
